Hoo St Werburgh Primary School is a thriving two form entry community school with a large school nursery which takes children aged two years to four years old. Although we are a large school we still hold onto the small village ethos and the community is at the heart of everything we do. Our school is continually oversubscribed year on year and is in demand in our local area.

The Hoo St Werburgh ethos and values are ‘Courage, Confidence, Respect, Belonging’. This applies to all adults and children who come onto our school and is the bases of our behaviour ethos in school.

Our curriculum intent is based around four principles – passion for lifelong learning, aspirational for all learners, relevant to the learners’ world around them and inclusive. As part of this intent we have a commitment to ensuring every child leaves our school as a well-rounded child, that is given the opportunity to meet their potential and flourish in their learning so that they have a drive to continue to enjoy learning throughout their lives.

Ensuring a safe and nurturing environment is also at the heart of our school and at Hoo St Werburgh Primary School we are committed to ensuring every need is met for every child in our care.

We have very strong relationships with parents/carers and the local community and this further embeds the potential for our children to flourish and achieve their best. The aim of this website is to keep you informed about the school’s values, curriculum, priorities and events as well as to celebrate some of the achievements of our hard-working pupils.  The staff, children and Governors hope that you find it useful and informative.
