Extreme Weather / Emergencies

At such times, information will be sent to parents electronically via ParentMail or should there be a IT fault parents may also be updated via social media such as Facebook/Twitter.  A statement will also be displayed on the front page of our website.

Please advise the office if you change your mobile telephone number or indeed any other contact details.    

We stress that no children are ever sent home from school without proper arrangements being made first with their parents or alternative contacts.

If the school is closed for a number of days, the staff will set work for your pupils via the learning platform.

Emergencies

In the unlikely event of any emergency please follow our social media - Facebook Page for updates.  We will try our best to update as soon as possible, whether this is by Facebook or Parent Mail.     Please do not telephone the school - telephone lines may be needed for the emergency services.

Please do not come to the school.  Your children will be safe.  You may cause complications if we are evacuating the site.  An emergency evacuation may mean that we go to The Hundred of Hoo site, the local church or the Community Centre/Park for example.  The school has emergency procedures in place.

In the event of an emergency – information will be posted on the school’s learning platform, on the radio websites and, if possible, you will be notified by text message/Parent Mail or Social Media. 

Emergencies whilst parents are on site 

In the event of a fire drill or evacuation during drop off or collection time we would ask for all parents/carer to gather in the front car park which is based outside the main office. This will be the parents/carers assembly point. Signs will be displayed to help to identify this area. In addition, a member of the school team will be available to guide you through the process.
